The last quarter ducat minted during the reign of Augustus III.
It is a small, beautifully crafted gold coin. This denomination was minted in only a few years throughout the monarch’s entire reign (six times during his 30-year reign). It was likely struck in limited quantities, as evidenced by its rarity today.
Minted in Dresden (on the bottom of the reverse, the mint mark—a hook—and the initials of Jan Fryderyk ó Feral).
Worn on the obverse, very nice reverse.
Gold, diameter ~13.5 mm, weight ~0.87 g.
