A beautiful, mint-quality coin with a clearly visible "proof" finish (mirror finish), especially for a copper coin.
This is the first year of issue for the two-penny coins introduced by the Gdańsk Senate. The coin was struck at the Berlin Mint, which simultaneously produced a small number of collector’s proofs using specially prepared mirror-finish dies. Their mintage was only a fraction of the circulation issue—a fact that is directly reflected in the rarity of these coins today.
