The honorary title and its insignia were established by an act of the Sejm of the Polish People's Republic dated July 10, 1985.

One of the rarest honorary titles—only 38 have been awarded.

A multi-part badge, attached with three rivets.

Manufactured by the Warsaw Mint, signed on the clasp.
