Beautifully preserved surface silvering for a Mitavian penny, although the coin has a slightly unnatural luster (wash effect).
The pennies, like the shekels of this prince, are a variety issue. The differences in their stamps can be seen not only in the cut of the portrait of Charles Krystian, but especially in the shields of Poland and Lithuania.
The present one is a variety with decorative shields, with ornamentation in the form of leaves at the bottom.
It is also distinguished by the lack of CHS initials surrounding the date (in our archive only 1 of the 9 pennies of this vintage did not have them).
