A print of the second (intermediate) layer of the portrait of Józef Poniatowski, the central portion of which adorns the 5 zlotych banknotes from 1919 and 1924.
This layer, the most beautiful in terms of craftsmanship and richness of detail, was almost completely “lost” on the 5-złoty banknotes due to the choice of colors for the individual layers in the final issue.
A work by the engraver Eugene Gasperini (“Gaspe”), who worked in France.
A variant without the artist’s signature.
Light blue color scheme.
One of the unique proof prints documenting the various stages in the creation of the first five-złoty banknote of the Second Polish Republic.
Dimensions: 115 x 115 mm (including the print area of 85 x 85 mm).
