The second rarest issue of the St. Petersburg 20-złoty coins—the highest denomination among the two-denomination coins of the Partition era.
This issue is clearly valued higher than those from earlier years—Berezowski lists it at 120.00 zł, whereas the years 1834–1839 are priced at 30–40 zł.
Very rarely seen on the market.
Minted in a run of only 5,473 pieces.
The last digits of the date show a visible overprint.
Very well preserved. Slightly worn (surface hairlines) in the background. With good, almost uncirculated detail.
Gold, diameter 19 mm, weight 3.81 g.
