A rare variety featuring paper with a watermarkreading “ ” (Gdańsk), the Gdańsk coat of arms, and the inscription “DANZIG.”
Significantly rarer than the typical paper with interlacing squares.
Here in variant B— with the mark rotated 180 degrees (DANZIG in a mirror image).
Paper with this watermark is typical of the November issue. As stated in Czesław Miłczak’s catalog,“The 10 pfg coupon dated November 1, 1923, does not exist. During the preparation of the second issue, the typefaces used for the date were not changed. Thus, two October issues were created (an earlier one and a later one).”
