Typologically, this is the most popular series of anti-speculation medals struck against "speculators."
It is satirical in nature—featuring a pig and the inscription “struck in honor of speculators.”
It is known in several different versions, including variations in the shape of the rays separating the items (here convex instead of concave) and the metal from which it is made.
It is most commonly found in bronze. This is the first time we’ve offered an aluminum version.
There is some surface dirt, but otherwise it’s in good condition.
Aluminum, diameter 26.5 mm, weight 3.92 g.
