The second series of half-thalers, from the year when changes were introduced both to the coins and at the mint.
On June 13, 1768, Justyn Schröder was hired to replace the then-mint master, Sylm, and it is his initials that appear on the entire issue of half-thalers from that year. The design of the half-thalers also changed that same year. The old portrait was replaced by a new design—featuring the king with a headband.
A variant with a short ribbon end.
A nice specimen. Despite a small mark from the hanging loop at the 12 o’clock position, there are no other unusual damages. With patina.
Silver, diameter 33 mm, weight 13.82 g.
