A very well-preserved two-talar coin that was not submitted for redemption to the Central Liquidation Commission— without a stamp.
Unstamped thaler notes from the Duchy constitute only a small percentage of the pieces that have survived to the present day. They are sought after and valued regardless of their condition, and collecting a complete set of signatures in the unstamped version is a major collecting challenge that will take many years.
This is confirmed by Mariusz Kozłowski’s study, in which the two-talar note with the rare signature of Antoni Kochanowski appeared only 16 times (out of 191 two-talar notes), but only 4 were without a stamp.
In a completely natural state of preservation. The paper is delicate and cream-colored, with slight soiling visible primarily on the obverse side.
It has an excellent appearance, featuring not only clearly visible dry seals but also a very faintly noticeable embossed print.
A very attractive piece for collectors.
