A very rare item.
20 zł 1948 from a fairly early FT series, in beautiful condition, with a low two-digit serial number [98], bearing the “WZÓR” overprint.
The typeface of the “WZÓR” overprint is authentic and characteristic of National Bank of Poland (NBP) overprints. The letters are in exactly the same typeface as on the collector’s specimens of this issue, but here they are spaced further apart—resulting in a more stretched-out, elongated overprint.
This is most likely the so-called “Jaroszewicz pattern” (an overprint applied later to a standard banknote intended for circulation).
The banknote is printed on ribbed paper.
There are no records of other pieces of this “Jaroszewicz pattern” series in publicly accessible online archives—it is possible that this is a unique piece.
A very attractive item.
