A distinctive variety with an inverted overhang in the lower frame.
The first of the distinctive fours to be discovered. The discovery was once published in the pages of Numismatic Review, in a column devoted to banknotes edited by Pawel Bohdanowicz, and was later included in Czeslaw Miłczak's catalog as a separate variety (Warsaw 2005). By its analogy in appearance to the sad emoticon, it continuously remains one of the most recognizable varieties of four-zloty notes.
A very nice piece.
Well colored and contrasting print. Very good freshness and luster on the reverse.
