A matching cut line pair of 50 zloty C and D series banknotes with consecutive numbers.
Insurrection banknote pairs are rare and very attractive collector's items. They are currently listed mainly for the 10 zloty denomination. Definitely less frequently, even sporadically, for the 50 zloty denomination. Those that did appear for 50s were already from the later numbering ranges of 20-30 thousand. Later introduced into circulation and less dispersed in it.
This pair is from a decidedly earlier stage of issuance. Its numbering is 8771 and 8772, and these bills have had plenty of time to disperse in circulation, also the surviving pairs from this numbering range are a revelation.
The earlier stage of production can also be seen by the paper's coloration and thinness. Later batches of 50s are usually characterized by a noticeably darker color and thicker paper. These are still on thin and flaccid paper, and are clearly lighter in color. It's a very pleasing to the eye, medium-light brown.
Piece of series D, with a piece of the paper mill's crest filigree present in the paper.
The presentation of the face of both banknotes is practically perfect. Technical state of preservation of each is a good 3+, with ridges of not strong fractures visible from the reverse.
Beautiful and rare.
