A PLN 1,000 denomination from an advanced stage of preparation, printed in large format and on paper with a current watermark.
This is one of the rarest varieties of the January 2, 1965 issue of PLN 1,000, with the denomination repeated in the margin, and a cross with the inscription Virtuti Militari in the subprint.
The PLN 1,000 was the only denomination in the projected series to make it to this stage. The realization of lower denominations ended at the stage of small format and printing on paper without watermarks (more on this type of design here).
Unusual rarity. A banknote in this version previously unlisted in the literature and absent from the "Lucow Collection".
