A beautiful trojak in an even patina, with a shiny surface.
Beautiful for 19th century Polish copper. Especially for an original minting, intended for circulation, not the later so-called new minting.
Polish minting of the partition period is one of the mirrors of the process that was taking place throughout the Congress Kingdom - the process of Russification. It can also be seen on copper three-grosz coins, the first type of which, minted until 1835, carried a denomination described as "POLISH GROSZE", while the second type carried only "GROSZE". (and the Polish eagle on the shield was replaced by Saint George), to be completely replaced by Russian coins after 1848.
In the former type, minted from 1817 to 1835, there is a short period, only two years long, in which trojaki were additionally stamped with the notation "FROM KRAINE'S COPPER" (1826-1827). And it is precisely its representative that the present trojak is.
