An amazing item.
It definitely stands out for its impressive binding, probably prepared for a numismatist or numismatic society.
Both the front and back covers are clad in copper sheet metal.
The sheet metal of the back side is specifically textured, and on the front side there is an embossed, or very likely electroplated, like the whole (?) image of a Kazimierz the Great penny, 20.5 cm in diameter. Above it an inscription KRONIKA made with the same technique.
Relief of imagery for contrast reduced to copper color, the rest of the surface patinated. The whole covered with varnish.
External format 26 x 35 cm.
Format of pages 24.5 x 34 cm.
Thick, pages unnumbered and we did not count them, but volumetrically their block alone is 2 cm thick.
Clean, unwritten. Sides of the block stained red.
Condition of preservation very good, without any defects. Made probably to order, but never used.
Revelation.
Nowadays it would be very expensive to make such a binding.
A great item for which the numismatist can find many uses.
Definitely recommended.
