The medals of Sigismund III were published in print by Marian Gumowski in 1924, in Cracow. Those were the days when items counted today as monetary numismatics, such as donativas, medal thalers and the spectacular studukatka, were counted as medals. For this reason, they are also included in this study.
Sigismund III Vasa was a king who showed great interest in medal-making and goldsmithing, hence the numerous issues, beautiful in form and some even spectacular, such as the huge medal for the conquest of Smolensk. Thus, the study on the medals of Sigismund III is an item of interest to both medal and coin collectors.
Medals of Sigismund III is a rare publication, sporadically appearing in the trade and achieving high ratings at auctions.
