Stanislaw Herstal, was a famous collector born in Krakow, Poland, in 1908, and settled in exile after the war. He was the owner of one of the largest numismatic collections sold after the war, containing a great group of Polish coins (numbers 1624-2148). The auction took place in Los Angeles in 1974.
