One of the rarest two-zloty coins of the partition period - 2 Polish zloty 1819 in the type with raised rim.
The first two-zloty coins in the Kingdom of Poland were minted in 1816. These were coins without a raised rim. This type resulted in easier abrasion of uncovered parts of the relief in circulation, such as coats of arms or the tsar's portrait. The first work on its change was undertaken in 1818 by minting a trial issue with the inscription GOD KING AND LAW on the rim. In 1819, without abandoning the previous type, work began on a type with a raised rim (instead of an inscription on the rim, a crimp was placed), putting into circulation, probably a small batch, of these coins.
Today, these coins are very rare.
In Berezovsky's price list, they were priced 8 times more expensive than the version without the incurred edge.
