The first vintage of the Kingdom's gold 25-gold coins.
A rare coin in a very nice state of preservation, especially for the type without the worn rim that protected the coin's relief from abrasion in circulation. Only gently moved on the topmost parts of the relief, undefected and with a very nice natural luster. At the same time, as the first vintage, the longest in circulation and the most difficult to acquire in beautiful condition.
One of the prettiest pieces of the 25 zloty 1817 that has been offered in recent years.
Gold, diameter 19 mm, weight 4.89 g.
Obverse: head of Alexander I to the right, in the rim:
ALEXANDER I - EMPEROR SA - W - ROS - KING OF POLAND *.
Reverse: Russian-Polish eagle, under the paws initials I.B (Jacob Benicke). and the date 1817; in the rim:
* 25 ZLOTY - POLSK - 52 Z GRZ - CZ - KOL *.
