The last fifty-dollar coin of the partition era.
A very rare, low-circulation gold coin.
Gold fifty-zloty coins during the Partitions were minted in Warsaw during the reigns of two tsars. The first was Alexander I, issuing them between 1817 and 1823. The second was his successor, Nicholas I, during whose reign the issuance of this denomination was perfunctory. There were only two mintages, both very rare today.
Mintage of only 1,878 pieces.
Very nice state of preservation.
