Alexander Jagiellonian, Vilnius half-penny - inverted D in ALEXANDRI

Lot description
Grade: VF/VF-
Reference: Kopicki jak 3122, Huletski H3B (RIII)

A very rare variety with an error in the ruler's name - with the letter D in the mirror image and a punctuation under the letter L in ALEXANDRI.

The error is very highly estimated in the specialized catalog of the Huletski-Bagdonas duo (with a rarity grade of RIII - the equivalent of R7 on the Czapski scale). Known to the makers from only one stamp (this one!), among dozens of varieties of these half-pennies.

Type with Gothic inscriptions on both sides.
