One of the beautiful thalers of Augustus II, minted on wide disks.
This is the type introduced after his return to Poland in 1709, after the Swedish army, and with it Stanislaw Leszczynski, withdrew from the country. With his return to the royal throne, references to the Republic returned to his coinage - a shield with the coats of arms of Poland and Lithuania, or a titulature with the notation REX POL (King of Poland).
The type was minted between 1709 and 1716, at the Dresden mint, with the initials and hook mark of its mincmaster (Johann Lorenz Holland).
