A rare vintage of August III thalers.
1745 is the year the Dresden mint minted three types of thalers. One of the Vicarian type (with a large eagle on the reverse), one of the Saxon type, and an intermediate type (with the shields of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Saxony on the reverse, but with ET VICARIUS in the rim).
The present one is the type from the issue for Saxony, with no reference to the privilege of the Saxon electors. The type with the initials F.W.ó.F. and the mint mark hook, minted between 1737 and 1755.
A striking broad coin in very nice state of preservation.
Silver, diameter 46 mm, weight 28.91 g.
