One of the most beautiful Danzig Sasa sixpences from their last rare minting vintage.
A natural, mint piece in a fine patina. Appreciated with a high NGC MS63 note.
During the reign of August III, Danzig increased its minting activities. Issuing its first sixpences in 1760, and ending the issue in the year of the ruler's death. This was an activity related to the influx of royal coinage produced in Saxony, especially the fake subvalue coinage of Frederick II.
Variety with the letter E in the initials of Oeckerman, the mint manager, at the base of the cartouche (does not separate the date).
