A very rare early type with the letters EP-H.
Circulating piece with lacquer (sapon) protected surface.
The last vintage of the crown sixpences of August II.
A type noticeably rarer in the trade than the "Weeping People" sixpences.
In 1706, after years of war, August II the Strong is forced to abdicate after fearing the complete conquest of the Electorate of Saxony by the Swedes. He relinquishes the Polish crown to Stanislaw Leszczynski. And a small testimony to these events are the sixpences of that year, divided into two issues. The regular one, minted at the Leipzig mint while Augustus was still in control of Poland, and the later, Moscow one, when he was struggling to regain power.
