Lot description
Grade: VF+
Reference: Kahnt 283, Kopicki 11110 (R3)

An impressive, large vicarage coin of Augustus II, being the first vicarage coin of a Polish king. It was named after the privilege of the Electors of Saxony, who according to it exercised the vicariate in the Saxon district after the Emperor's death. Coins of various denominations were struck to mark the occasion, most with a beautifully executed depiction of the king pinning a horse.

Despite the nice detail, the surface is corroded, as can be seen under magnification.

Silver, diameter 45.0 mm, weight 28.7 g.
