A very rare variety of the Wrymouth denarius, additionally coming from the collection of Henryk Karolkiewicz.
The denarius of the "bishop and knight" type is known from two basic varieties, differing in the reverse. The first, more popular, with a single name (of Saint Adalbert) in the rim. The second, much rarer, of which this piece is a representative, with two names (of the prince and the saint).
A variety that has been difficult to obtain for years now, as Stronczynski, for example, wrote about at the end of the 19th century.
A nice looking piece.
Obverse: a bishop with a book and raised hand for blessing and a knight with a spear and shield, in front.
Reverse: in the inner border a cross with wide arm ends and the name BOLZAEV, in the rim: S ADBLIBVS (in notation with errors and punctuation).
Silver, diameter 14 mm, weight 0.49 g.
