An exceptionally beautiful piece that impresses with both the quality of the minting and the state of preservation.

A superb, specimen piece.

The denarius of Boleslaw IV with the emperor on the throne is a coin whose issue is linked to the tribute paid to Frederick Barbarossa in Krzyzkow near Poznan in 1157.

A variant with the emperor holding lilies, seated to the left of the crescent moon.

Variant with the inscription of the name BOLEZLAVS (part of the letters rotated, twisted), flanked by rarer characters (N and reversed M).

Silver, diameter 16 mm, weight 0.41 g.
