One of the very rare denarii of Boleslaw IV.
This is a distinctive group of denarii dating to the end of the reign of Curly. They differ in minting technique (much shallower, with the appearance of minting almost half-bracteate).
The present one is the type with a depiction of a schematic head on the obverse, with the prince's name in the rim (BOLEZLA) and a bird with its head facing backwards on the reverse.
Occasionally found at auctions.
Nice state of preservation and legibility for this shallowly struck issue.
Silver, diameter 17 mm, weight 0.33 g.
