A very interesting iconographic and rare type of denarius of Boleslaw IV.
The result of changes in minting under Curly, on the way to a new type of coinage. A very thin disc, making the images less legible, no less for this type, this present piece stands out. The mintage is almost "half-bracteate."
The type alluding with its obverse to the first issues of Curly - with a reliquary - depicting the ruler in front, on a throne, but unlike them, the sword is raised here, instead of lying on his knees.
Reverse with a rare depiction of an eagle walking to the right, with wings spread.
Issue dated to the years after 1166.
Silver, diameter 17 mm, weight 0.35 g.
