Rarely found in the trade, the brakteat is in a nice state of preservation.
It depicts: inside a quadrilateral, a figure seated in profile to the right, holding a pennant standing in front of it, between two pearl columns.
As W. Garbaczewski points out, it is "one of the few examples among Piast brakteates depicting a ruler in a space bounded by a line of walls.... such a composition may have expressed the idea of 'sovereignty of the ruler in the territory subordinate to him.' A string of fortifications that realized the inviolability of borders secured against aggressors...".
