A beautiful, mint piece.
The first, of only two vintages of five-penny coins.
The issue, for the minting of which the Prussian 1/24 thaler was used, which they directly punched with the stamps of the Principality's five-penny coins. This can be seen well on the reverse of the present coin, where fragments of the previous issue's relief are visible in the background of the inscriptions.
An early variant for this vintage features the initials I.S. (of mint manager Jan Stockman).
A variant with a smaller denomination numeral.
