Galicia and Lodomeria, 3 pennies 1794

An interesting issue for troops deployed in Galicia, about which Charles Plage wrote as follows: In 1794, when a general national uprising broke out in Poland under Kosciuszko in order to liberate itself from foreign influence, the Germans, fearing for their estates detached from Poland, gather armed forces in these provinces and at the same time coax the Poles. In turn, wishing to manifest their seemingly cordial feelings toward them, they order a special coin to be minted for Galicia and Lodomeria - a penny and three-grosz coin, previously unknown in Germany, fully adhering not only to the Polish minting rate, but even marking on the coin itself the value of the Polish grosz: GROS(sus) POL(onicus)....
