A very rare and iconographically interesting 13th century coin from the Greater Poland area.
It depicts four heads placed in four arches forming a cross decorated inside with a central cross and crosses and rings in two of its arms.
The interpretation of the depictions on it isinteresting, K. Stronczynski writes that "one of the heads seems to depict a monarch with a scepter, the second a prince with a flag, the third a bishop, the fourth usually monstrous one cannot be guessed". J. Szwagrzyk sees specific figures in these heads, and they are Duke Przemysł I, Bolesław the Pious, Archbishop of Gniezno Pełka and Bishop of Poznań Bogufał.
A type that appears on our auctions for only the second time. The first time was an outstanding collection with 10 auctions.
