A rare coronation token of John Casimir.
A commemorative issue minted on the occasion of the king's coronation, which took place at Wawel Cathedral on January 17, 1649. The tokens were scattered after the ceremony by the Grand Treasurer of the Crown, Maksymilian Ossolinski, in the Cracow market.
The type was stamped with the stamps of a two-ducat.

Trace of pendant and scraping of metal near it. Traces of wear.
Obverse: an armed hand coming out of a cloud, holding a Sheaf (the coat of arms of the Vasa dynasty), above which floats the royal crown. In the rim:
DOMI-NVS ASSVMPSIT ME (The Lord has accepted me).
Reverse: an armed hand coming out of the clouds, turning the circles of an elaborate padlock with the inscription IOANES CASIMI-RVS. Below CORONAT9 ANNO 1640 D 17 IANV (John Casimir crowned on January 17, 1649). In the rim the sentence:
EST DESVPER COMPACTVM (in heaven it is deposited).
