A very attractive piece, of rare variety.
Coin with a beautiful mint surface. Locally deficient in the rim, but otherwise with very good relief.
The beginning of the issue of orts in Cracow coincides with the Deluge. The city begins minting this denomination in 1655, after the 1654 Sejm annihilated the reform from the beginning of Jan Kazimierz's reign. The mint was leased to St. Chrzastowski, who hired Jan Thamm as mint manager. Already in October the mint fell into Swedish hands, and it is from the occupation period that this rare ort comes.
Variety without Stanislaw Chrzastowski's initials (SCH), with a flower at the bottom of the reverse, under the treasurer's coat of arms.
Rare legend notation: CASIMI / ARGENT POLO (Shatalin R3).
