Here is the rarest trojak of Jan Kazimierz.
Minted without the consent of the Seimas, it was the first Lithuanian trojak.
It was an issue on the initiative of the Grand Treasurer of Lithuania, Michal Gedeon Tryzna. In 1652 he opened a mint in Vilnius and, "not caring" about the new minting ordinance, began minting sixpences, trojaks, pennies and shekels. The two highest denominations of this issue, made in undersampled silver in relation to the prevailing ordinance, are very rare today.
Trojaks were minted only in 1652, specifying their rate on the coin (under the Pogonia, sides of the Gozdawa coat of arms) as 1/30th of a thaler.
Consistent, high valuations in catalogs and price lists (R7, RRR).
