A valued denomination of the Sobieski mint - the Danzig ducat.
Nice state of preservation. Coin with minting imperfections - delamination of the plate and deficiency on the ruler's portrait, common for these ducats. With preserved luster, with good presence.
The second type of portrait of the king among his Danzig ducats. With Sobieski depicted wearing a crown (instead of a laurel wreath), armor with epaulet with a lion's head and the Order of the Holy Spirit on his chest. Struck with stamps dated 1683, by a prominent Danzig medallicist (Höhn), at the mint under the management of Christian and David Schirmer.
Piece from Erwin Warth's collection of world gold coins.
