Lot description
Grade: VF
Reference: Paszkiewicz 4D.4 (?), Kopicki 8420 (R6)

A rare Wschowa denarius.

The issue formerly believed to be a coin of Ladislaus II Jagiello, now, in light of Boris Paszkiewicz's research, dated to around 1434, the reign of Ladislaus Varna.

Depicting a shield with a double cross under the letter W, flanked by the letters "m" (side) and most likely the letter "p". As we read in the "Silesiorum Moneta" it is the royal letter W.
