Here is the oldest ducat of King Michael Korybut, and in a beautiful state of preservation.
A coin with a natural mint mirror. Uncirculated, only shallower minted, which is common for this issue made on wide disks. Appreciated with the only MS note in the NGC censer (the so-called Top Pop).
This is the first of three vintages of his Danzig ducats - the only one kept in a different style.
The ducats of the 1670 vintage are a typologically interesting, rare issue that came out of the hand of Jan Höhn the younger. It depicts a slender bust of the ruler in the rim, dividing the legend with only a crown, where the next two vintages (kept in the same style) have a large bust of the ruler, without a corded border (dividing the titulature with both a robe and a crown). This is a coin with a visible date punctuation on the stamp - from 1669 to 1670. At the same time, not a single ducat with the date of his coronation is known.
This is the first time in our history.
