The last ducat of King Michael.
A clasp closing a short period of only three years of minting ducats in Gdansk in the name of this ruler. Made in the year of his death.
It is a beautifully preserved piece. Evenly, centrally struck. With a natural mint luster background. With a beauty appreciated by the MS62 note, which is the highest in the NGC grading (so-called Top Pop).
The 1673 vintage is a continuation of the style adopted in 1672, depicting a broad, massive bust of the king, dividing his titulature at the top and bottom. However, it differs in the details of its execution - including a richer epaulet, a different hair cut. On the reverse, distinguished by, among other things, a different flower in the wreath, or decorations on the sides of the shield console.
A very rare coin in such condition.
