One of the rarest technological samples from the late communist period - small 2 gold 1984 made in cupro-nickel.
Made in an edition of only 5 pieces (according to NBP documents). In the reference catalog of Janusz Parchimowicz illustrated with pieces from the collection of the National Bank of Poland, highlighted there among a dozen discovered by Mr. Janusz during his work on the catalog. Previously unknown.
Technological specimen probably made in preparation for the change in circulating PRL two-zloty coins, which did not take place until 1989. At that time, the 21 mm diameter type was changed to noticeably smaller two-zloty coins minted in aluminum, ~18 mm in diameter (such as the present specimen).
Mint with a few light scratches on the reverse. Obverse with no reservations.
A beautiful and very rare sample.
Only known on the antiquarian market from this 1 piece (ex. Castle Marciniak auction).
Smooth edge. PRÓBA inscription convex.
Copper-nickel, diameter 17.5 mm, weight 2.90 g.
