Here is one of the rarest typologically two-zloty coins of the time of King Stanislaw Augustus.
The only one among 30 years of minting of this denomination. Distinguished by the lack of a denomination marking!
The first, perhaps even pilot issue, on which the 8 GR designation was not placed at the bottom of the reverse. This lack was quickly corrected at the mint, as the 1766 two-dollar coins with the marking clearly dominate this vintage. This is well represented by Berezowski's price list, where a two-dollar coin without the 8 GR is priced at 100.00 zlotys, and those with it at just 2.00 zlotys.
A nice, naturally circulated piece. Original celadon patina preserved on the surface.
Extremely rare in the trade type of coin.
Only the 2nd listing in our history over 20 years (the first was A17/2261, sold for 19,470 zloty).
