Beautiful coin. A natural, healthy thaler in the patina of an old hoard, with a very nice mint luster.
A second vintage of half-talars, from a year of changes occurring both at the coins and at the mint.
On June 13, 1768, Justyn Schröder is hired to replace the then mintmaster, Sylm, and it is his initials that appear on the entire issue of half-talars of this vintage. The appearance of the semi-talars also changes in the same year. In place of the old portrait, a new type is introduced - with the king with a headband in his hair.
A rare variant with a longer ribbon and three branches next to the MARCA.
Ex. Karl Stephens (1987).
