The first, of only three vintages, of thalers with a new type of royal portrait. Distinguished by a bust without a ribbon in the king's hair.
In 1783, a top-down decision was made to change the bust of Stanislaw Augustus on coins. It applies to all portrait coins of this king (from the zloty, to the ducat), with the exception of copper triplets. In the case of thalers, this is a change after 15 years of consistently minting coins with a bust with a ribbon in the hair.
