The obverse of the rare denarius offered here refers to the games in honor of the goddess of flowers and bloom, Flora (Ludi Florales or Floralia), which were first organized (FLORA(lia) PRIMVS sc. fecit) by Gaius Servilius, ancestor of the monetary official, in 240 BC.
