One of the icons of Nicholas II's minting.

Absent from many advanced collections, a highly rare commemorative ruble minted on the 200th anniversary of the naval battle of Gangut.

It is the last commemorative coin of Tsarist Russia. It was designed by Peter Stadnitskiy, a medallicist of the St. Petersburg mint. Minted to commemorate the entry into service of the Gangut(Гангут) type battleships in 1914, named after the famous victory of the Russian fleet in the Great Northern War(the Battle of Gangut).
