A cherished type of penny from the time of the siege of Danzig - Talleman's penny without Kawka.
After Caspar Goebel flees Danzig, his duties are taken over by Walter Talleman. Forced to organize a new mint, not having such a workshop as his predecessor, he returns to the traditional method of coin production - stamp minting.
And it is this inferior and slower minting technique, poor bullion and deteriorating conditions that today pennies from Talleman's time are encountered noticeably less frequently, and the coins themselves bear numerous minting defects.
A variety without the Talleman (Kawki) mint mark. Reverse legend ending in GEDANENS.
