A beautiful coin, distinguished above all by its mint freshness, which is unprecedented for Zamosc bicones.
Of the two denominations that were minted in the fortress of Zamosc under siege by the Russians, it is the silver doubles that are more readily available. They were minted in a larger mintage (7830 pieces), but due to the characteristics of their issue - minting under wartime conditions, on disks made of an alloy of various types of church silver, by a crew inexperienced in coin production - they are very difficult to obtain in such states of preservation.
Their issuance, which began after months of siege, was intended to provide money for the army's outstanding pay and the salaries of officials.
Variety with a large bomb and small letters in the rim. No errors in the legends.
One of the more beautiful ones we had on offer.
